This makes me think. How would the Google car react to seeing a chromed out car? Would it keep driving? Or does it have additional sensors that detect that there is an object in front of it?

Also, I saw a really small woman driving a Slingshot the other day, she didn’t look like she was having fun. xD

Saw one of those on a business trip to Atlanta a couple weeks back. Gave the guy a thumbs up and he just started trying to rev it and just “safetly” show off. He gets in front of me and he just crop dusts me with his vape pen smoke stuff. Had another guy in the car with me and when the vape hits us, we both look at each other and laugh. The guy was smoking weed going up the interstate in Atlanta traffic. No wonder he was so chill around all that traffic.

Chrome doesn’t make the car invisible. Besides all of the cameras that it uses, it uses radar sensors as well. There’s nothing about some shitty chrome that would make it impossible for the sensors in the automated vehicles to pick it up.

You’re mistaking reflective for see-through. The optical sensors might get confused, but the radio and laser light sensors would just be able to see it even better.

Such is correct! Thank you! I had stopped following the Google Car story for a while. I had forgotten that it’s more than just a bunch of cameras. :)
